Hey everyone,

I’m having a frustrating issue with my Ryzen 5800X. I’ve been trying to adjust the PBO limits using Ryzen Master, but no matter what settings I apply, they always revert back to the default values when I restart my PC or access the settings from another device.

I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Updating BIOS and Ryzen Master: I’ve ensured that my BIOS and Ryzen Master are up-to-date.

Checking for conflicts: I’ve disabled any third-party overclocking software or utilities that might be interfering.

Resetting BIOS settings: I’ve tried resetting my BIOS to default settings and then reapplying the PBO limits.

Hey there,

I suppose you were let down when the PBO limits did not match your 5800X. This may be quite irritating, especially when you are attempting to push it that much further from its limits.

Here are a few more things you could try:
Check for BIOS Updates: And when you said updating the BIOS, it is always advisable to search for the current BIOS as newer BIOS have bug fix and improvement particularly on the overclocking segment.
Verify Ryzen Master Permissions: Ensure that Ryzen Master has permissions to modify those system parameters which it should tweak. In other cases, it may be caused by having a restricted user account, or even an antivirus programme.
Try a Different USB Port: If you are connected through USB hub, try to connect the Ryzen Master directly to the USB port of the motherboard. Sometimes, there are also some issues can be occurred with the transfer of data through hubs.
Check for Overclocking Limits: Certain of the motherboards have implemented PBO control features that can disable the overclocking options. It is advised nonetheless to look at the manual of your motherboard for there are certain limits to it.
Consider a Clean Windows Installation: In the case where the above solutions are ineffective, it is easy to solve the system issues that make PBO not to work by formatting the windows.
Start with smaller adjustments: While setting the PBO limits, should employ small increments and increase the limits to detect the systems behavior.
Monitor temperatures: It is used to check whether the CPU and GPU are hot already or not, so that you will be able to regulate the temperature.
Test stability: Now after changing in PBO you should try to load test your system in order to know the condition of the system under loads.
