5800X PBO Limits Stuck on Default – Need Help!

Hey everyone,

I’m having a frustrating issue with my Ryzen 5800X. I’ve been trying to adjust the PBO limits using Ryzen Master, but no matter what settings I apply, they always revert back to the default values when I restart my PC or access the settings from another device.

I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Updating BIOS and Ryzen Master: I’ve ensured that my BIOS and Ryzen Master are up-to-date.

Checking for conflicts: I’ve disabled any third-party overclocking software or utilities that might be interfering.

Resetting BIOS settings: I’ve tried resetting my BIOS to default settings and then reapplying the PBO limits.

Hey there,

I know you were disappointed when the PBO limits did not adhere to your 5800X. This can be a real headache, particularly when you are trying to get that extra performance out of it.

Here are a few more things you could try:
Check for BIOS Updates: When you said updating the BIOS, it is always wise to check for the latest BIOS as newer BIOS contain bug fix and improvements especially on the overclocking features.
Verify Ryzen Master Permissions: Make sure Ryzen Master has access to change system settings that it needs to adjust. At other times, restricted user accounts or even antivirus software may cause it.
Try a Different USB Port: If you are using USB hub, try to plug in the Ryzen Master directly to the USB port of the motherboard. In some cases, it is also possible to experience some problems with the transfer of data through hubs.
Check for Overclocking Limits: Some of the motherboards have incorporated PBO limiting features that can override the overclocking features. It is recommended, however, to check the manual of your motherboard for any limitations that it may have.
Consider a Clean Windows Installation: If none of the above solutions are effective, a fresh Windows installation could solve system problems that are causing PBO to not work properly.
Start with smaller adjustments: When setting the PBO limits, use small steps and gradually raise the limits to observe the system’s response.
Monitor temperatures: Monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures so that you will know if they are already hot or not.
Test stability: After modifying PBO, load test your system to check on the stability of the system under heavy loads.

I hope these suggestions will assist you in solving the problem. If you have more problems, please describe your system configuration such as Motherboard model, BIOS version, etc.
Best of luck!
